Kylee Yarbrough was nominated by a family member, Tiffany Moore.

"At our Title I middle school, one of our seventh-grade math teachers, Kylee Yarbrough, walks into a classroom full of challenges and refuses to let any of them win," said Moore. "She listens, reteaches, adjusts, and celebrates every student’s progress like it’s a championship. She knows her kids by name, strength, struggle, and potential—and she meets each one exactly where they are. When the final bell rings, she switches from equations to encouragement, coaching the Cheer squad with the same energy and heart she brings to the classroom. Every day, she shows her students that success isn’t about where you start—it’s about never giving up."

I am proud to be Kylee’s assistant principal! She has done an amazing job creating a warm, inviting learning environment for her students. Every time I walk into her classroom, the kids are full of life and energy because of what she has created within those four walls. We are so lucky to have Kylee at our school!

You can always tell when someone is truly meant to be a teacher, and that’s Kylee through and through. She has this amazing way of making math feel less scary and more like a safe space for her students. They trust her, they open up to her, and you can see how much they grow because of it.
