Music that Describes Christie
Christie Alkebulan was nominated by a colleague, Dianah Miller.
"If I could describe Christie in three words, they would be compassionate, dedicated, and inspiring," said Miller.
Christie has been an FLS (Functional Life Skills) special education teacher for many years, serving students from elementary through high school. Her impact reaches far beyond the classroom—she has touched countless lives with her patience, creativity, and unwavering belief in every student’s potential. Christie meets each child where they are, celebrating every milestone, no matter how small, and guiding them toward independence and confidence. Her classroom is a place of warmth and encouragement, where students feel safe, respected, and loved. Christie builds strong relationships not only with her students but also with their families, offering support and communication that make a lasting difference. She collaborates with colleagues to promote inclusion and understanding, helping to shape a positive and accepting school culture. Christie leads by example, showing integrity, compassion, and professionalism in all she does. Her work ethic and dedication inspire those around her, and her ability to find joy in the everyday victories of her students reminds everyone why education matters. Christie’s legacy is seen in the smiles of her students, the gratitude of their families, and the admiration of her peers. She is truly a LifeChanger, one who changes not just the path of her students, but the heart of the entire school community.
