Music that Describes LaShandra
LaShandra Lincoln-Goff was nominated by her colleague, Carla McHenry.
Ms. Lincoln-Goff exemplifies the very essence of this honor through her adaptability, resilience, and altruistic spirit. Ms. Lincoln-Goff leads with compassion and integrity in every aspect of her work. She is a selfless, solutions-oriented leader who consistently puts the needs of her students and staff first. Her unwavering commitment is evident in the fact that she commutes over an hour and a half each way to work every day, without ever allowing that distance to diminish her enthusiasm, energy, or dedication. A tireless advocate for all students, Ms. Lincoln-Goff ensures that every voice is heard, especially those of students with special needs. Her fierce advocacy and determination have created an environment where every child feels valued and supported. She approaches challenges with grace and perseverance, always finding thoughtful, compassionate solutions.
"Beyond her professional excellence, she is a trusted colleague and mentor whose wisdom and judgment I can always rely on. She has personally gone above and beyond to ensure my well-being. In the Fall of 2023, I was in a horrible car accident, which landed me in a coma. When I did not show up for work and did not return any phone calls that morning, she immediately called the police department to request a welfare check. As a result of her quick thinking, my family was notified, and my whereabouts were discovered. She also remained in contact with my family during my medical recovery to ensure that I had any assistance that I needed," said McHenry. "Her influence extends far beyond her own role—she inspires others to lead with heart, humility, and purpose. It is an honor to work alongside someone so deeply devoted to making a difference. Ms. Lincoln-Goff truly embodies what it means to be a LifeChanger."
Mrs. Goff is the most selfless hardworking educator I know. Seeing her put so much love, time, and commitment into her career all these years inspired me to become an educator myself.
Mrs.Goff is a truly an amazing professional educator who goes above for the students. I have worked closely with her as the parent of a student who attended K.B.Polk and am thankful for the support provided by her.
I truly appreciate her leadership and encouragement. Her positive attitude and commitment to excellence create a welcoming and motivating school environment.
She brings strong leadership positivity, and a fun personal personality that makes our school a welcoming place. Her dedication to students and staff does not go unnoticed.
I truly appreciate her leadership and encouragement. Her positive attitude and commitment to excellence creates a welcoming and motivating school environment.
Mrs. Goff has been an inspiration to me since I met her. She is selfless, kind, confident and graceful. She always makes everyone feel seen. Mrs. Goff is super knowledgeable and creative in so many aspects of life and she doesn’t hesitate to share her knowledge. I am thankful to know her. She has been a blessing to me and my family.
Best assistant principal in the world. My children love her and always feel at home when she is around.
It was two years ago this month that my daughter had a terrible automobile accident and didn’t show up for work. Ms. Goff was very compassionate and did not waste time in contacting the Dallas Police Department to do a wellness check and that quick thinking is what alerted the family and everyone that we had a serious challenge before us. I will forever be indebted to and grateful for Ms. Goff. I pray she wins this award
Lincoln-Goff is She is an exceptional assistant principal who consistently supports both staff and students. She is loved by everyone she meets!
Ms. Lincoln-Goff is my mother. She raised me alone, with the help of my grandparents. Throughout my life I saw my mom face hardships while always putting others first. Through her sheer perseverance she was able to lift herself up with all of the challenges and hardships she faced being a young single mother to a rebellious child. During this time I saw my mother sacrifice, outwork, and out perform all the while building a better life for me and everyone she touched. My mother, no matter the situation would go out of her way, even while struggling herself, to not only care for me but every person she came across. She has touched many lives and my hope is that she continues to be a shining beacon of hope for many in the future.
I worked with Assistant Principal Lincoln-Goff four years ago through my AmeriCorps placement at Julian T. Saldivar Elementary School in Dallas, TX. I value Ms. Lincoln-Goff's work ethic and commitment to students and young people, including those who come from immigrant families and are English learners. Ms. Lincoln-Goff has high expectations for each student and staff member and is relentlessly committed to excellence, but she is also fair, objective, and kind. I was a history major before my AmeriCorps service / time in the district, and I think it is important to point out that the school -- where Assistant Principal Goff worked for several years -- is named after Dr. Julian T. Saldivar, a World War II veteran who later became one of the first Mexican-American physicians in Dallas. According to an article in the Texas Historian (Vol. 57, No. 1; available online), Dr. Saldivar is remembered for providing lifesaving medical care to many of the city's children. I am confident that Assistant Principal Goff's character and commitment to the children of Northwest Dallas and the Greater Love Field / Bachman Lake neighborhood -- where, to my understanding, she continues to work at a nearby school -- would make Dr. Saldivar proud if he were alive today. Ms. Lincoln-Goff would be a great candidate for this award, and educators like her empower students like those at Saldivar Elementary and the Polk Center for Academically Talented and Gifted to follow in the steps of distinguished Dallas leaders like Dr. Saldivar.
