Marie St. Julien was nominated by the assistant principal, Yesenia Sanchez.

Mrs. St. Julien has demonstrated an exceptional and measurable impact on the school community through her unwavering commitment to student achievement and enrichment. She consistently goes above and beyond by providing an additional 30 minutes of after-school academic support at no cost, ensuring that students receive targeted instruction, reinforcement, and access to resources that strengthen their understanding and confidence.

Her influence extends well beyond academics. Mrs. St. Julien plays a critical role in cultivating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming school environment where all students feel valued and supported. Her positive relationships with students foster a sense of belonging that directly contributes to improved engagement and overall school climate.

As an innovative leader, she designed and implemented a schoolwide Science Bowl for all 5th-grade students. This dynamic initiative allows students to review and master science standards through engaging, team-based competitions using buzzer systems. Each round is followed by clear explanations of correct answers, reinforcing learning in a meaningful and memorable way. This program has significantly increased student motivation, participation, and academic confidence in science.

Her record of excellence is further demonstrated through her ability to ignite a genuine passion for learning. Through hands-on experiments, interactive games, and student-centered instruction, Mrs. St. Julien transforms science into an exciting and accessible subject for all learners. Her nurturing approach has directly contributed to a remarkable 50% increase in science scores compared to last year's mid-year assessment, highlighting her profound impact on student outcomes.

In addition to her contributions in science, Mrs. St. Julien enriches her school by teaching French to students in grades 3-5, broadening their global awareness and cultural appreciation. She also leads a highly anticipated, week-long French celebration each year, filled with engaging activities for both students and staff. This celebration not only acknowledges the richness of French culture, but creates meaningful, immersive learning experiences that promote inclusivity, curiosity, and respect for diversity across our school community.

"Mrs. St. Julien’s commitment to fostering a nurturing, academically rigorous, and culturally responsive environment makes her an invaluable asset. She consistently upholds the highest moral and ethical standards, building strong, trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and families. Her passion, leadership, and dedication continue to transform our school, making a lasting difference in the lives of our students," said Sanchez.
