Mrs. Murphy possess several characteristics that molds her into an Effective Teacher! To begin with, she is an excellent communicator. You'd think that the most important quality for a teacher to possess would be knowledge, since that's what the job is all about, after all. No matter how knowledgeable a person is, if they can't convey what they know to others in a way that is not only understandable but engaging, the knowledge itself is useless. In addition to, she has great preparation and organization skills. Mrs. Murphy spends endless hours outside of the classroom preparing, designing lessons, learning more (both about their subject matter specifically and how to teach, in general), participating in professional development, and thinking of fresh and interesting ways to reach the students. Most importantly, she has high expectations for ALL! A teacher's expectations have a huge impact on student achievement. She expects a lot from each student, but those expectations are both challenging and realistic. This doesn't mean she holds all students to the same high standard, but instead that she know what each student is capable of individually and strive to help each one attain their personal best. This title fits you perfectly, "The Lifechanger of the Year"!

It has been my infinite pleasure to watch Dasaisha grow and mature from an uncertain teen, encumbered by challenging and chaotic life events to a determined young adult who has matriculated and graduated into a successful wife, mother, minister, mentor and educator. Each one of these roles is fulfilled with care, passion and excellence. Dasaisha is always excited about her students, her classroom and assignment. She often goes in early and stays late to make sure that everything is just right for her students as she is determined to see them overcome and succeed. Dasaisha understands that each student must not only know their worth, they must know that they matter and are cared for; they must know that their unique personality, gifts and talents have a place in this world and that they are both wanted and needed. I highly recommend this brilliant, intelligent, creative, studious and caring educator. She deserves it and is an asset to her family, school, community, church and the world at large.

She is my lovely cousin. I've watched her blossom into an inspiring young woman, who loves God, her family, and her students. She's always pre-planning her daily activities. That reminds me of how teacher's were when I attended elementary school. You are definitely a life changer. Continue to be blessed, because you touch the lives of so many people!

Janine Flegert Posted over a year ago

Dasaisha is a Life Changer because her students are her babies! Every one of them! She loves on them when they need to be loved and she's tough on them when they need tough love. She's sad with them when they're feeling low and she helps them celebrate when their accomplishments are high. Dasaisha is a Life Changer because she cares.

If you want a picture of a successful life as a servant would measures it and friends view it, don't look for it in the glaring lights and blaring bands in Time Square. Don't look for it in Washington, D.C., or in the State Capital. Look or listen, for a friend like Mrs. Murphy, who has a successful life, in places where a humble servant can provide words of comfort, knowledge, hope and love. She is someone who is sympathetic to the needs of others without selfish motives. She proves that success can be for everyone. She does the common things that most people take for granite uncommonly well. Thus comforting those in need, parting knowledge to the youth, inspiring hope, and sharing heart felt love to those whom she comes in contact.

I have known Dasaisha, (we call her Shai) since before her marriage to our Son, William (we call him Murph) in 2012. I have watched this young lady with only a high school education, juggle a new husband, and 2 children, as she maneuvered her way through 4 years of college, then on to graduate school. Being just proud of her isn't enough. She has beaten the odds. What an incredible woman, wife and mother to 2 of the sweetest girls, making me a proud "Papa Sid".
