Music that Describes Nadia

Nadia McCarron was nominated by her colleague, Susan Chase.

Ms. McCarron is a first year kindergarten teacher who shines in everything she does Her love for her students radiates from the moment they walk through the door until the final bell rings at the end of the day. Ms. McCarron grew up in South Africa. She relates well with students who are learning a second language.  Unfortunately, she had a family emergency this year and didn’t want to leave her students to travel back home.  After serious deliberation, she realized that her students would be in good hands and she could go back home to support her grandfather.

"Nadia has a heart of gold.  Her students are lucky to have her as their first elementary school teacher," said Chase. "I can’t wait to watch this young lady blossom in her teaching career."

I have known Nadia but for a few months and her truly caring nature was obvious immediately. Her personality stands out in social situations, easily engaged, witty and well rounded and you always walk away feeling good. In conversations regarding her work and some of the common obstacles confronting educators, I found her incite contemporary, open minded and intuitive. I feel any parent would be very fortunate to have her as there child's teacher and much more.

Nadia is an enthusiastic person who manages to incite enthusiasm in others,. What better quality for one teaching children. She is a hard worker, conscientious and focused on what she intends for students to learn. It would be nice to go back to school and have Nadia for my teacher.

You’d be hard-pressed to find an educator who deserves this award more than Nadia. Her kindness and generosity impact all aspects of her life, including the people around her. I’ve been blessed to see Nadia’s love for teaching grow from a distant dream to a full-fledged passion that she wouldn’t trade for the world. There’s no denying that it is hard to be a teacher nowadays. With technological advances and pressure from social media, it’s harder than ever to succeed in teaching, and I’ve seen so many friends and family become discouraged. But not Nadia. She has taken the extra pressure and expectations and used to it grow and shape the lives she comes into contact with every day. If I could change one thing, I would have Nadia as my teacher! ?? she is such an incredible person who I am totally blessed to know. I have no doubt that she will continue her career in education for many, many years and continue to have a positive impact on so many little lives!

As a parent of a student in Mrs. McCarron's class and as a parent volunteer that helps in her class on a weekly basis, I can tell you that she is a very caring, understanding and phenomenal teacher. I fully support her and agree with Mrs. Chase in nominating her for the Lifechanger of the Year Award. I have had the opportunity to see Mrs. McCarron in her class with her students on a weekly basis. She is the perfect balance of patience, understanding and structure. She is doing a very good job of preparing her kindergartners for first grade. My student loves going to class and learning from her. I have really seen him grow and blossom not only academically but personally. She takes the time to work with each and every student individually to ensure they are learning, growing and progressing in everything they are learning in her class. If there are any students that are struggling or needing additional help she makes sure she provides them with what they need to succeed. She knows that not every student is the same or learns the same, so she frequently asses each student individually and makes any adjustments needed to help them. Mrs. McCarron really takes the time to know each student and their parents individually. She is very good about having open communication with the parents of her students. I know I'm not the only parent that enjoys all the pictures and messages she shares with us on Class Dojo everyday, it is very reassuring to see exactly what our students are doing and learning in her class everyday. She is kind and patient and understanding, but does not baby or coddle her students. She is very structured and her students know exactly what she expects of them. She teaches them to be responsible for themselves and holds them to their highest potential which I have seen boosts their confidence. She is very good as positive reinforcement, which really makes her students try their hardest and are so proud of themselves. My student has a couple of challenges (he has been diagnosed with epilepsy, is completely deaf in one ear and struggles with his fine motor skills) and she makes sure he has the resources he needs. She is currently helping us through the process of getting him assessed for an IEP. I have nothing but lots of good things to say about her and I have complete faith that my student is in the best hands when he is at school and I know and have seen how much he is learning and growing in her class. Thank you for all you do for your students, Mrs. McCarron and I can't think of anyone more deserving of this award that you.

Nadia has a heart of gold. She’s one of those people that is simply genuinely kind and cares for others. She’s not only invested in the development and growth of her students, but in everyone around her. Nadia truly believes the work she does is rewarding and that pushes her to be the best she can be for her students. I don’t know of a person more deserving of this recognition for her efforts in the classroom, the place she changes lives everyday.

Nadia is very deserving of this award. She is a go-getter who gives 100% to her students every day. She collaborates with her colleagues effectively and is constantly looking for the newest techniques and research to better her practice. She is always one of the first to get to school in the morning and one of the last to leave. She puts kids first on a daily basis and her students adore her. Heritage Oak is a better place with Mrs. McCarron here to set a solid foundation for students in Kindergarten.

Nadia is an amazing person. She is kind hearted, full of love and joy, and will always have a smole on her face. She worked so hard to be where she is today, to support her students and live a happy life. She puts in so much effort day after day to ensure her classroom is perfect and the class os full of fun. She is a huge inspiration to me as she has achieved so much in life, in such a small amount of time. She is not only my best friend, but like a sister to me. She definitely enjoys life and making sure her students are her top priority. I am thankful to have Nadia in my life as she is like no other. Love yoi girl.

Nadia came into our lives four years ago and has been a blessing ever since. We have watched her grow from a college student to a US citizen, to a grad-student and now soon to celebrating marriage to our son. Nadia tackles life with an open heart and an open mind and she gives us hope that the next generation of Americans will be thoughtful, kind people who will be up to take on the world's gifts and problems. Nadia's positive outlook, empathy and stick-to-itiveness will help her students, colleagues, friends & family be better people and better stewards of this planet.

Nadia is by far one of the hardest workers I have ever met. She has this quality about her that make her always want every last one of her students to strive to be the best student and person they can be. Coming from South Africa, she was a Second Language Learner since her first language is Afrikaans. She knows the hardships and difficulties that can come with it and strives to make sure that any student that is learning English for the first time has a smooth and easy process. It's because of the hardships that she has gone through that makes Nadia a profound teacher that can leave a lasting impact on her students.
