Music that Describes Keith

Keith Haggerty was nominated by his superintendent, Jacob Francom.

Mr. Haggerty has been the Maintenance and Transportation Director of Troy School District #1 for the past five years, but has accomplished as much as one person does in ten years. During this time, he has coached softball and is a regular supporter of Trojan Athletics and Activities. Even before he joined the staff of Troy School District, he was a board member for several years and a coach for various sports in the community and schools.

Mr. Haggerty has made a tremendous difference in the lives of many students directly and indirectly. He leads a student maintenance crew of over 15 students and has taught them many life skills. He has indirectly impacted the lives of students and the culture of the schools in the district by his example and hard work. The facilities of Troy School District have improved tremendously under his watchful care; they are welcoming, inviting, safe, and a great place to learn and work! The environment he has helped to establish is based on respect and hard work, and it has produced a nurturing atmosphere for all students.

Mr. Haggerty's leadership is contagious, and his influence is felt with students and staff members alike. He is an extremely hard worker—the first at the school district each day and the last to leave. He is positive, encouraging, and an overall team player—always willing to do what needs to be done for the benefit of learning. Mr. Haggerty will make time to ensure things are working appropriately for any class or activity and also to speak to any struggling student to help them.

Mr. Haggerty's record of excellence speaks for itself. His influence and leadership has transformed the district to one that is welcoming, encouraging, positive, and safe. Throughout one’s life, a person will be lucky to encounter such an outstanding person, and Troy School District is fortunate and blessed to have him as a leader in the school district.

"I cannot think of anyone more deserving as Keith Haggerty for any recognition—his impact is felt tremendously now and will for generations throughout the school district and the Troy community," said Francom.

Keith has been my boss for almost 4 years now. He is a great role model and has helped me build a better work ethic, and has taught me the discipline that I need to have for the rest of my life. He has been a softball coach for a few years in troy and I the program has grown quite a bit. He has girls in the gym almost every day in the winter and has made them love the game. He is a very hard worker, he gets to work every day at like 5 AM and doesn’t leave until 6 PM, sometimes even later. He is very dedicated to his job, he is a great boss, and he enjoys having student workers. I don’t see how anyone could win this award except Keith, he deserves this award very much and I think he would very much appreciate it.

Keith Haggerty has been a great role model these lasts years that I have known him, he always pushes his team and workers to do their beds and work together. Since he became the couch of this softball team we had turned our seasons around. He teaches us so many lessons and helps us out to the best of his abilities. Keith deserves this award.

I have had the privilege of working with Keith for the past six years. He is one of the most selfless, hardworking people I have ever met. As the maintenance supervisor, he has worked tirelessly to upgrade our facilities and grounds. He cares about the people he serves and this shows in his interactions with maintenance and transportation staff and school personnel. As transportation director, he ensures that our students are safe and cared for by the drivers. Keith is willing to do anything to help others and improve the learning environment for students, staff and the community.

Keith is an old friend from high school. It's nice to read everyone's comments regarding his life and leadership in his community. Good luck Keith, you deserve this!

My father is without a doubt the hardest working person I have ever and likely will ever meet. He has spent more time helping others in the last year then most people do in their entire lives. Amazingly he has kept that pace up his entire life! Whether it was putting on a fundraiser for the local cancer charity, (WINGS) helping someone pack out an animal, coaching baseball/softball or keeping THS running smoothly, my father has always spent his time in the service of others. The extra time he puts in with his players and his student workers helps them become better at their task, as well as setting a great example for the next generation of community members. He has never been one to seek praise or glory for what he does, he does it because he genuinely loves to help others. I can't think of anyone more deserving of recognition than my father, Keith Haggerty.

First time I met Keith he replaced my headlight on my car for me. I had been dating his oldest son for a few weeks and he heard that I was driving around with only one headlight after hitting black ice; he drove from Troy to the Yaak to fix it for me. I couldn't believe that someone would go completely out of their way to help out a total stranger. But that's who Keith is. He is always the first person everyone thinks of when they need help. He's first in and last out at work, making sure that everything is always left even better than the day before. His give-all take nothing attitude and down to earth heart is truely one of a kind. You'll rarely find a greater man than Keith. And I'm even more blessed to call him dad now. He's changed so many lives for the better with all the work he does. He shows young, and old, individuals what amazing things they are capable of. He sees the increadable person they are and the potential they have to do amazing things when no one else does. I'm whole heartedly proud of him and even more proud of his nomination. Im just surprised it didn't come sooner.

Keith definitely deserves this award. He has been my boss and my softball coach since my freshman year. He has definitely changed my life a whole lot. Because of him I learned many skills that are needed for the future such as: drywall, plumbing, carpentry, gardening, etc. Not only did he teach me how to do these things but he also taught a large amount of student workers how to do these things. Keith puts in many hours to get things done and to make sure everything is done the right way. There is no shortcut when you’re with Keith. After Keith finally leaves work, he spends MORE time helping all the softball players improve with hitting, fielding, throwing, fundamentals everything. He even helps us mentally. A main thing I struggle with for most things is confidence and Keith has changed that for me. He constantly puts me on the spot to make me better, gives me life changing advice and can always tell when you’re having an off day or just when something is bugging me. I am positive that the rest of the players would agree with me. Keith Haggerty has tremendously changed my life and many others and because of that I hope he wins this award because after all he has done he deserves it.

Keith has been my softball coach and boss for just over two years now, and I cannot think of another person who would dedicate so much of their spare time to work or sports. He’s very caring and dedicated to everything he does. As well as always helping and encouraging the people around him. Keith is selfless and has been and continues being an amazing role model for all the students and people.

I have been a bus driver for over 30 years and Keith is by far the best mananger EVER!!! I have known Keith way before he became my boss. He works so hard every day, gets called out in the middle of the night to go rescue a bus that has broke down (no fault of his) and still is the first one there in the morning and the last to leave at night. I have nothing but a great deal of respect for him and proud to call him my BOSS!!!!

Pam Tallmadge Posted over a year ago

Keith most certainly deserves this award. He works so hard in making sure everything is done around our facilities and arranging bus schedules. Great Job Keith!!

I really couldn't think of a more deserving person. There are not that many people out there that are as hardworking and passionate about helping out others as Keith is. To be honest, it would be hard to imagine the school without him and I'm very blessed to have him as a supervisor!!

I've known Keith for over twenty years. Initially, he as a small business owner with whom I had the pleasure of doing business. In time, he would become a member of our school board where he served with fidelity, intelligence, and earnest commitment. Then, a few years ago, he became the maintenance and transportation director for our school district. I can count on one hand, with fingers left over, the number of people I know who can match Keith's work ethic, dedication to excellence, and general human decency. He is a man of unquestioned integrity and an example to be followed. I am pleased to see Keith recognized. He is almost certain to think he isn't deserving, such is his humility. Others will certainly recognize that Keith Haggerty is truly deserving. Count me among them.

Keith is my younger brother so I am slightly biased. However I do have to say he sees the good in all of the people around him. He works hard to help all students achieve their best self and works endlessly to do so. He is the hardest worker I know. He not only works hard for the school district but his own family as well. I couldn't be more proud of the person he is and what he does for the youth in his community!

My Dad has been a huge role model for myself, and sets a great example to follow. He has an incredible work ethic, and will do whatever he can to help someone in need. Whether it’s helping one of his softball players improve their game, or making sure that the school is looking good, he’s always busy trying to make Troy Schools a better place. I am lucky to call this man my dad!
