Music that Describes Kathleen
Dr. Gipperich helped my daughter learn the ropes of Kindergarten through the camp this year. Her professionalism and enthusiastic teaching style as made a lasting impression.
I’ve known Dr.Gipperich for YEARS from her teaching my sisters to now teaching my own. THANK YOU for everything you do, you’ve been so patient with my child & every other child you come across. We adore you & very much deserve this!
I was blessed to work with Dr. Gipperich for many years. Her compassion and patience with each child she works with is amazing. I am sure the number of lives changed by this “life changer” are innumerable. Dr. Gipperich has a gift that has touched the lives of many students and their families.
Katie is an amazing teacher! She truly believes in teaching the whole child. Proud of you!
Congratulations Katie!!! This is so well deserved, you always give 110% to your students. So proud to have worked along side you through out the years!
Congratulations, Katie! Well deserved! Keep up the great work with the kids! We need great teachers!
Dr. Gipperich was all three of my sons kindergarten teacher. She was fantastic and we are so grateful they began their student career with her. She is definitely deserving of this great accomplishment and we hope that generations to come get to experience Dr Gipperich's classroom and her as a teacher. Congratulations Dr. Gipperich.
For the past several years I have volunteered alongside Katie on boards, committees and other ventures at Partners for Pets, a nonprofit pet rescue. Although I am not a colleague or parent from Katie’s school, I can attest to Katie’s deep level of caring and compassion. Year in and year out, Katie serves our organization with professionalism and commitment. Operating an animal rescue is no small task and we are very grateful for Katie’s dedication. Katie has been a Life Changer for those with two legs and those with four. Thank you for all you do Katie!
You are ana amazing teacher. Both of my boys had her and absolutely love her
Katie has always wanted to be a teacher, and I'm so proud of her and the commitment she has made to her career,
she goes above and beyond to meet her students needs.
I had Miss Katie as a preschool teacher at Hoech middle school. There are not words to describe how amazing she is. Teachers have to have the ability to make a child feel safe away from home especially when this is probably the first time the child has been in a new environment with a lot of new kids and being away from those parents. Miss Katie made me feel at home at school. She is such an amazing teacher and every time I see her she puts a smile on my face. You are an amazing teacher and person Miss Katie.
I met Dr.Gipperich back when I was about 4 or 5 years old, I knew her as Mrs.Katie, back when I had a speech delay. I remember her coming to my house a couple days a week to work with me on my speech. Although that was a long time I ago, I still remember some of the activities we did together and how patient and fun she was to be around! Now, being 21 with a daughter of my own and speech delays being common in my family, I hope Dr.Gipperich is able to work with my daughter the way she worked with me many years ago, and if my daughter starts school at buder I hope she gets the opportunity to have dr.Gipperich as her teacher.
Dr. Gipperich was all three of my kids’ first experience with elementary school and made it a fun and positive experience for all of them. She supported each of their individual needs and communicated often with me to make sure we were on the same page.
I also had the opportunity to serve on the schools Parent Teacher Organization for 4 years. She served as the teacher liaison and helped to facilitate many of the after school activities which promoted family involvement and a sense of school community. She reached out to parents and school coworkers and advocated for student needs.
I also know that Katie spends countless hours volunteering for an animal rescue organization.
Dr. Gipperich is an asset to her school and her community. She is a familiar face for many families and provides a positive experience for many children starting their school careers. She maintains open communication with her families and often stays in contact with families after they have moved on. She is very deserving of this nomination!!
I had Dr. Gipperich when she was Mrs. Gipperich! 16 years ago I started kindergarten at Wright City Elementary and lived in the country with all of my family... until my mom told me we were moving to our own home and the 45 minute drive from Wright City to St. Ann felt like forever. I was SO scared to start school at Buder Elementary. I was only 5-6 years old but I remember walking through her classroom door like it was yesterday. She and all of the students were there to greet me and make me feel right at home. I even remember some of the comments made “oh my gosh she has so many freckles”. SHE was my first amazing teacher in Ritenour, and she never forgot me despite the 100’s of kids she got after me. I’d like to think that she was one of the people who helped shape me into who I am today. I have been in the U.S. Navy for 3 years now, and am currently stationed in Japan accompanied by my husband, and daughter. Thank you for helping with my success Dr. Gipperich. I was blessed to cross paths with Dr. Gipperich, and I’m sure everyone else who met her feels the same way.
There are not enough words to describe Miss Katie. This is how my family knows her. It all started when my oldest started Pre-K and Miss Katie was her teacher via the Rittenour Early Child Center. Immediately we fell in love and I was fortunate in that Miss Katie was also a member of the Parents As Teachers, so she became my family's Parent Educator. It didn't stop there, next up she moved into Buder Elementary and had my second child for Kindergarten.
With 3 kids, and me a young mother with a husband who travelled and no parents of my own to help, Miss Katie filled that void for me and my young family. Her care for my children went far beyond the classroom and continues to. We moved from Rittenour across the river when my oldest was in 3rd grade. St. Ann was my home and for the first year, we kept close with those we moved away from. Time makes you busy, but through every milestone, Miss Katie has continued to cheer my children on, even to this day when my youngest is now a Senior in High School. She even kept her eyes on my nieces who transferred to Buder a few years after we moved out.
For a teacher to continue to care beyond the year of being paid to teach a child is one in a million. To this day, when I reach out to her, she is right there and ready to help. Miss Katie, Mrs. Gipperich, or Dr. Gipperich as an educator, is one to be modelled and as a friend, I am so proud of her journey! If anyone deserves recognition, that would be Dr. Gipperich.
My daughter Kayla Gibbs-Jordan was in Katie preschool class, she gave my daughter a solid foundation to education. My daughter is now a senior at Jackson State University. My daughter has shine because of her preschool teacher. Thank you for all you do for the children. We love you
Thank you Mrs. Gipperich. Chaz was so lucky to have you as a teacher. You were & still are the best kindergarten teacher. He loved you so much he still wanted you for a teacher in first grade.I remember how sad he was when he found out that you wouldn't be & how for a few weeks he had to come see you before class started so he could have a good day in 1st grade. He's going to be 13 in December. Thank you so much for all your help & for loving him.
She was my 29 year old sons first teacher. She is still in our lives and knows all my kids, even though she didn’t teach them all. Just met with me and gave me pictures from my sons preschool days. We love her!!
Dr. Gipperich taught my oldest daughter 11 years ago and another daughter again 5 years ago. We have since moved out of the district but Dr. Gipperich has made a point to keep in touch with the girls progress from time to time. We have two more girls, with learning disabilities, that Dr. Gipperich unfortunately did not get the opportunity to teach, but she has helped by offering advice throughout the years. Of all the teachers in our two oldests' lives this far, Dr. Gipperich stands out from the crowd. Her passion for reaching each and every student is something to be admired.
Dr. Gipperich...we had her when she was Mrs. Gipperich..kindergarten molds your children for the rest of their schooling. All three of my daughters had Katie, to watch her push them, guide them, and love them during their parents divorce like they were own. To watch her also push herself in own studies, I’ve never been more honored to have a teacher in their lives. My oldest now a freshman, still loves to stop by and hug Mrs. Gipperich. Very deserving indeed.
Dr. Gipperich had two of my children as students. They loved her and her classroom. She is such a patient, understanding, supportive and loving teacher. It’s been two years since my youngest had her as a teacher and we moved away and she still tries to stayed updated on their lives.
We were blessed to have Dr. Gipperich as our son's kindergarten teacher! Can't think of anyone more deserving!!!

Congratulations on a well deserved award. We know incoming Kindergartners are always the great unknown. You have always been a wonderful first step into Elementary School for those youngest of learners. Appropriate hands on learning with lots of guidance and love for those new little ones learning the ropes. Always kind and generous, the best first teacher children canpossibly encounter.

She was my daughter's kindergarten teacher. She is the best.
Dr. Gipperich is a true reflection of love. She is a model educator who communicates effectively with parents and ignite a passion for students to come in ready to learn. Even with decades of experience teaching, she’s still open to learning new concepts and strategies. I have four children and she’s taught one but has a relationship with all. This is a well-deserved nomination for an educator who continues saturate the community with her smile and genuine drive to excel students.
