Music that Describes Erica

Erica Mitchell was nominated by her principal, Dr. Lanor Payne.

Ms. Mitchell is an extraordinary person and clinician. She is a highly skilled, extremely knowledgeable, compassionate team player who consistently displays and promotes the highest ethical standards. She effectively demonstrates the true meaning of student/family partner and advocate. Ms. Mitchell is a positive role model and a collaborative interdisciplinary team player. She continually advances her own personal knowledge and exemplifies what it means to be a lifelong learner. In addition, she mentors and coaches others in achieving professional goals and development.

Ms. Mitchell gives her time selflessly. Because of her clinical expertise and commitment to advancing nursing, she is often asked to participate in both nursing and interdisciplinary research and committees. She spends countless hours reviewing current literature to ensure these clinical research and practice projects are based on the best available evidence. Many of these projects would not succeed if it weren’t for her commitment, knowledge, persistence, and dedication.

"Ms. Mitchell is a compassionate human being," said Dr. Payne. "She advocates for all families and positions herself as a leader in the community. It is an honor and privilege to work with such a wonderful person."

Nurse Erica really deserve the award. 5 years ago I got a phone call from Nurse Erica about my child. She was really sick and she was in need and Nurse Erica was there with her keeping her safe. She explain and inform things to me that I relayed to the doctors and got the help my child needed. Long story short my child had a serious issue and needed surgery. My child hasn't had a problem since she was 2 at the time now she is a healthy 7 year old. I was only a parent at that time. But now I work in the same building as Nurse Erica i see her doing her job caring for children. She is very knowledgeable, kind, loving, and much more. I most definitely second hand this nomination to Mrs. Erica!! Being a Parent and Employee in the District Mrs. Erica has been nothing but professional, caring and understanding to me. Mrs. Erica has educated me on my son’s health and shows Love all the time. Just last week Mrs. Erica was leaving the building to go home and I made sure I got her attention as I was leaving letting her know that my son had been complaining of some health problems that he occur almost every year round the clock. Mrs Erica stopped and talked to me educating me on what to do with my son standing in the cold. I couldn’t do nothing but thank her and even said I will make sure I keep my eye on him. You are so deserving and this has been nothing but God allowing me to see this post because I’m emailing Dr. Payne on how awesome Mrs. Erica is to me and my son! Congratulations ???? Mrs. Erica.

I have had the pleasure of working with Nurse Erica for 5 years. Her first priority is always caring for the health of our young scholars. Nurse Erica constantly assists the medical needs of all scholars. She is a master of juggling multiple duties & titles for Riverview Gardens School District. She is effective at everything the district requests. Perhaps, her best skill is listening to a teacher’s concerns, assessing the issue, and then creating a solution that positively impacts all the stakeholders involved.
