Tamara Thomas was nominated by Dusty Wisdom, the parent of two students.
Ms. Thomas has such a positive impact on her entire school! She’s a beaming light of sunshine in a wonderful school that teaches children life skills to succeed in adulthood. She is a leader who creates an environment for her students to not only build positive self-images of themselves, but interact with their peers in a respectful manner.
Ms. Thomas has been at every school event, encouraging students to be their best and respect others, and encouraging parents to take pride in each student's success. Her love for her students is apparent and shown through the hugs and “high fives” she gives and receives from parents and students.
Ms. Thomas is creating leaders, and her impact on this next generation is shown by the cheerful and self-confident students who walk through the halls. It will continue to be shown in the form of new business owners and entrepreneurs who will be confident and know how to run a business. It will be shown in the form of young adults who will be knowledgeable when interviewing for a job and conducting themselves professionally. These qualities and life skills are so necessary for the future, and they're instilled in each student Ms. Thomas comes in contact with.
Mrs. Thomas is an amazing leader, mother, wife, role model, inspirator, LIFE CHANGER, and more! The work she has done at Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship (PHCSE) is inspiring. She leads with class and grace. In many ways, she has been a mentor to me and many other people. Very rarely do you come across people who genuinely want what's best for others. Mrs. Thomas embodies the values of what a Life Changer stands for, "Do Good. Be Good. Make Good." Mrs. Thomas consistently goes above and beyond for ALL students. At PHCSE she has truly created a culture and environment of love, care, respect, and pride. In addition to being the proud Principal and leader at PHCSE, she is undoubtedly a Life Changer. I have been an educator for well over 15 years. I have had several principals and administrators who were capable of getting things done when needed. However, Mrs. Thomas is different. Ms. Thomas is a great principal. When she see students in the hallway and and in the classrooms she hugs them and says hello.

Mrs. Thomas is the best principal I have ever worked under. She is a truly effective leader that adheres to the strategic plan and reaches the goals we set for our students.
