Anna Mora was nominated by her principal, Tim Schlosser.
Ms. Mora' positive impact on her campus is immeasurable. She took on an AP computer science class and actively led recruitment to ensure a diverse classroom in terms of both race and gender. She was recognized by a representative from Hour of Code for having one of the best computer science programs they’d seen in this respect.
Ms. Mora is a leader among her peers. She models positivity and a solutions-oriented stance, and she always puts students first in her thinking. She is AVID coordinator for her school and is actively working to make sure all students at Tyee can access a wide variety of post-secondary classes.
"She is truly versatile and flexible as an educator, and she exemplifies effective teaching practices across content areas and disciplines," said Schlosser. "I could not recommend her more highly - she changes lives on a daily basis!"
