Jessica Coldwell was nominated by her colleague, Deb Starkey.

This is Ms. Coldwell's first year at Kennedy Elementary. Over the past several months, she has made music fun for her students! She is kind, generous, patient and loving to every student.

"I have been so lucky to sit in on a few of her classes," said Starkey. "She is fun, without losing control of her classes.  I feel truly blessed to have her at our school!"

Ms. Coldwell is an amazing music teacher! She makes music fun, meaningful, and exciting for the kids. She has a great attitude and is fantastic with the kids. My students come back dancing and singing! We are so lucky to have her at Kennedy!

Jessica is very deserving of this award. She is an absolute amazing music teacher and person. She makes music so much fun for the kiddos at Kennedy. My own child talks about this woman and how much fun it would be to be in her music class. She has a great attitude and truly cares about the kiddos. She is the best around!

While this is Ms. Coldwell's first year at Kennedy Elementary School, she has been a music teacher in the Wellington School District for many years. It has been incredible to watch the positive transformation of our Kennedy music program since Ms. Coldwell has become a part of our team. Ms. Coldwell is incredibly positive and upbeat, and instills a strong yet loving passion for music in our students. She has literally transformed what our school, our students, our staff, and our parents feel and think about music. For the first time in a very long time, our students love music class, love learning about music, and love having fun while they learn in this class. It has been incredible for our staff to watch students as they have increased confidence in their music ability, and have learned that music can be a very positive outlet for their creativity. Kennedy is beyond blessed to have such an amazing person and teacher leading our students in such an important part of their lives.

Jessica is an amazing addition to our team at Kennedy. She not only makes music so fun for the students but also teaches them the fundamentals. She goes above and beyond to make our music program the best that it can be.
