Position: DLL Teacher / Cheer Coach
School: Albemarle High School
School District: Stanly County Schools
City, State: Albemarle , NC
Brenda Watson was nominated by her friend, Kim Cook.
Ms. Watson, known by her students as "Miss Bren," is an asset to Albemarle High School. She gives so much to her students. She is always looking for ways to help students succeed.
Miss Bren started an AHS Closet. This closet is just one of her ways of giving back. She takes in donations of anything students may need such as clothes, shoes, hygiene products, household items, etc. All anyone has to do is ask, and she gives.
Miss Bren also has a mentoring group called Denim & Pearls. This is a group for young women who may not have the support a female needs to make it in the world. She inspires young ladies to present themselves as very valuable women.
Miss Bren is also an awesome cheer coach. She teaches the kids to be accountable for their actions. The kids represent AHS all the time, not only when they are cheering. She is respected by the cheerleaders and any student at AHS.
"I could go on and on about Brenda. She is a wonderful friend and colleague," said Cook. "I am proud to say I know her, and she gives me inspiration. After all this beautiful lady has overcome in her life, she continues to be a positive person and strives to help our kids."
