Meghan Daneke was nominated by an anonymous parent of a student.

"The first time I met Mrs. Daneke, I knew she was a phenomenal teacher. I didn't even need to be in her classroom," said the parent. "Her positivity was incredible. She was already invested in my child's academics without even having him in class yet. The first sentence to him was, 'Do you like math?'  His answer was a very quick, 'No.'  She responded to him with, 'Then it is my job this year to change that.'"

"Amazingly, over the course of the year...he finally tolerated math," said the parent. "He went from thinking he was a failure without even trying, to believing he could actually do it.  Mrs. Daneke had so much faith in him that he began to have faith in himself.  I know that we are not the exception, but the rule for her. She has a lasting impact on students and creates a culture using the power of 'Yes' for students.

I know you are an exceptional teacher because you give from your heart and you know how to reach your students . You change the lives of your students because you care about their hearts as well as their heads. This is a rare thing and I am proud to call you my daughter-in-law.
