As one of William’s older sisters, I have the utmost affection and respect for him. His professional career has been exemplary. He is a problem solver with a history of wise and prudent decisions. William’s compassion for others is evident in the way he has chosen to live his life, both on a personal and professional level. He is very deserving of this life changer of the year honor.

William and I are brothers, along with three other fellows. There were eight children in our family all together, three girls and five boys. William, in a great way, is the reason I became an educator. William has always had a way of cutting through the clutter of any given situation and identifying what matters most. At a time when I was waffling about what direction I should take career wise, he made a comment to me that stuck fast. We were both young men in our early to mid twenties and he said that working with kids was a great job regardless of weather you're a teacher or coach. He also related to me that he would teach even if he were not allowed to coach athletics. You see to William what was most important were kids he was working with. He was passionate about it. This spoke volumes to me. Now 30+ years later, I have been able to witness the difference he has made in many lives, including mine. For 35 years now I have now been a teacher, coach, principal and supervisor in a school district not to far from where William is located. In my current position, I have had opportunities to work with many of William's colleagues. It has been a special treat to hear them relate stories about how easy William is to relate to, his fidelity to service and that he has maintained his passion for what is best for kids regardless of his role, weather a teacher, coach, administrator or community member. To William, it has always been about the kids.

I worked many years with Coach McAdams as a teacher and an assistant principal and he always put the students first. He reminded us that we teach kids. He also completed backed his faculty and was willing to listen to your concerns. As a football Coach, assistant principal, and principal he supported our students and their successes. Congratulations Coach McAdams for the great career and for being a life changer!

As a mother of 3 sons who participated in athletics while Coach Mc was the head football coach, I appreciate the life lessons they learned from him. His examples of doing the right thing and making wise life choices helped my boys grow into good, productive men. A mom could not ask for more than that of a teacher.

I have had the privilege to work with Coach McAdams since 2003. As a classroom teacher I always knew Coach McAdams was going to be straight forward and fair to everyone. I have been working in administration with him for the last 3 1/2 years and I've been able to see him in a entirely different light. He has been a great mentor, principal, and friend. Anytime tough decisions need to be made Coach McAdams will always say, "Is this what's best for the students of Hardin County High School?" He will always keep their best interest in mind including holding them accountable for their actions, and I appreciate that. Coach McAdams is very deserving of this honor because of the positive influence he's had on Hardin County High School students, faculty, and our community.

I have had the privilege to work with William "Coach" McAdams since 1997. For the last several years, he has been the principal at the school where I work. Never in any situation have I found him not thinking of what is best for the student. In faculty meetings, he always reminds us that we are 'here for the students". He is a good man who always tries to do the right thing. He is the same every day. He is fair to everyone - staff, faculty and students. He deserves this life changer of the year award. He has devoted his whole adult life to teaching, coaching and being a principal. As the school nurse, one of my duties is to keep an eye on the number of absentees each day. When he became our principal, our attendance percentage actually went up. We had fewer students absent each day. One reason for this, I felt, was because Mr. McAdams was in charge of discipline and the students who are in trouble are often the same ones who miss a lot and I think he built trust and confidence with these students and they attended school more consistently. From the student who quit the football team who was overwhelmed with family issues to the student who was a behavioral student who quit school as soon as he could, Mr. McAdams gave these boys and many more a second chance and they have become good citizens and have families and are hard workers. I would like to repeat that William McAdams deserves this award.

This man has been more than a friend and boss to me. He has allowed me to be a part of his family by opening up his home and allowing me to stay so I won't have to travel 180 miles round trip to my home in Alabama. His caring and love for my family far exceeds what I could ever be able to put in writing. He is a true leader and mentor to many and his influence in my life will be forever remembered.

I have the privilege of being coach McAdams (right hand as he would say) secretary for three and one half years. He has a heart of gold and truly cares about the students, teachers and staff of this school. You can always know he will have your back if needed. It has been a pleasure working under his leadership.

I have had the privilege and honor to coach and teach under William McAdam’s guidance for 20 years now. Watching the example set by William has helped show me as well as many others what it means to be a person and educator of character. His hard work and determination are second to none. Coach Mac gave me my first opportunity to coach and helped guide me throughout my career as a coach and now as a beginning administrator I continue to look to his example. He is very deserving of this recognition.

Coach McAdams is a wonderful person to work for... and WITH. He is supportive of both teachers and students, and he has created an atmosphere in our school that will impact many in the years to come. I am blessed to have played softball for him, and now work with him as my boss. I know that the impact he has had on me over the years has helped to sculpt both my teaching and coaching philosophies. Our community is blessed to have him, and has been blessed with the 30+ years that he has served so many.

From the first day I walked into Hardin County High School, I knew this was the school where I wanted to teach. Every individual that works here made me feel like I was already a part of the school family. This all comes from the amazing leadership of Coach McAdams. The unwavering trust that Coach McAdams has in his teachers/staff is one that I have not experienced before. I am truly grateful that I have the opportunity to meet and work for Coach McAdams.

William is one of my older brothers, and he has always been a role model and positive influence in my life. Being an educator myself, he has influenced my personal life and my professional career. Through observation and many conversations, it is very evident to me that William has always based professional decisions upon what is best for students and the Hardin County School System. I CAN NOT think of another person that has had more of a positive impact on his school or anymore more deserving of this recognition than William McAdams.

I’ve had the pleasure knowing Coach McAdams for forty one years. I played for Coach Mc as well as was fortunate to get to coach with Coach Mc and the main thing I have learned from him is having Great Character, a strong work ethic, and having a positive attitude. Those characteristics hold true today with me as I also got into education and coaching and Coach McAdams was my major influence in doing so. I can not thank him enough for the countless hours he has given to me teaching and mentoring me. Coach, thanks for all you have done for me and my family.
