Jennifer Salmon was nominated by her colleague, Sandra Day.
Day's son has Down Syndrome, and hasn't always gotten the help he needs at school. That changed when he joined Ms. Salmon's regular education classroom. It was a moment that, according to Day, changed the trajectory of his life.
When her district underwent some challenges, Jennifer took on a leadership role. She not only spearheaded an initiative to directly support the students at her school, but she stepped up and took on an important and demanding role to support staff as well.
Her students have always been the focus of everything she does. Her classroom is built on a foundation of kindness, care, respect, and a can-do attitude.
"I could have written a novel instead of an essay about Jennifer Salmon and all she has given to the children, staff and parents of Chelmsford Public Schools," Day said. "This is just a small list of her many, many life-changing examples. Jennifer Salmon is a LifeChanger extraordinaire!"
