Tina Hill was nominated by her superintendent, Joe Steele.

Ms. Hill is a graduate of St. Regis School District and was raised in the community. Seven years ago, she went into the district as an employee during a time of stress and turmoil. She has brought with her a calming, professional spirit that brought reassurance to the staff, superintendent, school board and community. Her knowledge of accounting and professionalism instilled confidence in the administrative team. She is a vital thread in the district's fabric as a parent, staff member and community member.

"As I am a new superintendent, Ms. Hill has demonstrated patience and guidance with me, even when my imaginative budget coding frustrated her," Steele said.

Staff members at St. Regis admire and appreciate Ms. Hill's efforts on behalf of the school and students.

"Ms. Hill has been an integral part of this community and school her whole life," said Timberly Kelly, a teacher from the district. "She takes great pride in the school, and its progressive atmosphere is due to her positive attitude and care for the school, its students, and employees. She is friendly to all and maintains a high degree of professionalism in all she does. Her morals and ethics are exemplary and above reproach. She is knowledgeable and willing to share her knowledge and time in a very unselfish manner. We truly appreciate Ms. Hill here at St. Regis Schools."

Without her dedication to the school, her commitment to excellence, and willingness to nurture and guide the leadership team, the District would not have made the gains it has, nor as quickly as it has. The respect and trust that now exists between the stakeholders is largely due to her moral and ethical standards and visibility in the community. She has truly helped change the atmosphere and the attitude throughout the district.

Carol Young, a School Board trustee, credits Ms. Hill for the district's remarkable change, as well.

"Ms. Hill's work ethic and spirit of cooperation have made my job as a trustee much easier," said Young. "Her commitment to the school and the students is obvious. When collecting information for the board, she is careful, thorough and shows strong attention to detail. I have confidence that the work she does is being done with a high degree of professionalism. She is the backbone of our team.  She saves the district and the board time, money and gives us the peace of mind that we are doing the best we can for our kids."

When she is not in the office, Ms. Hill can be found in the stands cheering on St. Regis students in athletic and other extra-curricular events. She has assisted the Business Professionals of America and FFA chapter advisors with their respective programs and lent her expertise to the students who serve in various positions. She is also a devoted member of the St. Regis Friends and Neighbors of St. Regis School (F.A.N.Club), spending many hours planning events, creating posters and buttons and other trinkets for parents and fans of student athletes and clubs. Ms. Hill has hosted prom dinners, helped primp girls' hair and dresses, and provided photos for students. She is a tireless advocate for the school, students and staff.

"Not once have I seen her turn a student away who was in need. She makes herself available to both students and staff to support them as needed," Steele said.

"I personally appreciate her humbleness and her sense of humor," Steele said. "She is always available to bounce ideas and concerns off of and provides guidance on policy and budget matters. She is a trusted and valued member of the leadership team. Her contributions to the District go above and beyond her job discription. She truly has changed the lives of students and staff and the culture of this District."

I do not even know where to start. I have known Tina for about 17 years. I have coached soccer with her. I worked with her while I was on the St. Regis School Board. I currently work with her as an employee of the St. Regis School District. Our girls have played sports together. Tina is a wonderful mom, a valued co-worker, and a cherished friend. She is like family to me. She shares the same values and morals that I have. Our school district would be lost without her. She always has time to help, even when she is busy. She loves a good practical joke. She makes work fun.

Tina is one of the most helpful people I have come across. She greets each person with a smile and makes each person she comes in contact with feel important. She was one of the first people that befriended me when I started working at St. Regis Schools. She goes out of her way to make people feel welcome. She also goes above and beyond her duties at work to make sure the students and staff of St. Regis are cared for. She is an amazing light to us all.

I've watched Tina grow up from a cute little girl, to an outgoing young women. Then a loving wife and mother. She has always been involved in community, school and helping anywhere needed. She had been a cornerstone of our small Montana school for a number of years. She does her job professionally, but. with a big smile. Tina has and always will be an outstanding force to the kids and community. I vote for Tina!

As a member of Tina's local community, I have the highest regard for her both professionally and personally. She exemplifies the very 'best' of today's society as a woman, wife, mother, financial manager, community leader, Christian, and person of integrity. She exudes warmth of heart to all with whom she is in contact. There is no better role model and 'life changer' than Tina Hill!

Tina has such a positive attitude toward people and toward life. It touches the life of anyone who has worked with her or had some contact with her. The effort and commitment to her family, to the school, to her church and to the community are tireless. We have noticed that she is a person that can be counted on and who always steps forward to serve. We respect her greatly and have witnessed her ready affection for those around her. A real asset, and blessing to anyone, anywhere, anytime!

I have known Mrs. Hill her entire life and have watched her grow into the amazing person she has become. I was privileged to have had her as a student years ago. All of the attributes she now possesses she had then so it is not surprising that she is as involved with all aspects of community life as she is. She possesses a deep sense of commitment in anything she is involved in. Professional opinions are always well thought out as well as being insightful. Personal opinions are never judgmental but helpful. Whereas most people have difficulty in going the "extra mile",Mrs Hill considers it to be a normal part of her day which makes her a valuable asset to the school as well as the community at large. She is that rare individual that others are drawn to when in need of help or advice. Her pleasant demeanor and 'can do' attitude are what have made her so important and vital to the forward progress of the school and the community. Any award or recognition that should be bestowed will have been well earned.

I have known Mrs. Hill her whole life and was fortunate enough to have her as a student in the fifth grade She was an amazingly hard worker in the classroom and was always involved in whatever was going on during the school year. Over the years I have enjoyed watching her grow into the amazing mom and person she has become. She, along with her husband Devin , have instilled in their children the same values and ethics that they both grew up with: that of hard work and a willingness to be involved and helping others. She has been a driving force at the school as well as in the community and never shirks any obligation or chance to become involved in ways to make things better for the school and community..For me it has been a privilege to have known her as a student, parent, and the co-signer of my paycheck every month. She makes my day everyday just by being the kind of person she is.

Tina is a fun/loving person who enjoys life. She has a smile that can light up any room. In fact, when I am having a bad day, I often go in there for a laugh. I always come out with a smile and a more positive attitude. But behind her charisma, lies a commitment and work ethic that demands perfection and hard work. She works countless hours managing the budget and watching after the superintendent and I. She has made St. Regis School a better place. She has been a "life changer" for me as well as others. She is definitely a person who deserves the this award.

Their is no way that the school could live without her, or even if I could live without her. My sister has cancer and al she has done for me is be their, every step. She provides a worming touch, even if your having a bad day. Tina would do anything for anyone. She brings the crowd to every game, even if its not her own child. All she is a life changer to every person in our school. I don't know what i would do if she had left are school, I think she is going to make graduation a difficult think for me, just because I would want to see her every day, just to get a glow in my heart.

Tina has worked here since I was in elementary school and has always been super supportive of me, the students, and the staff and is always working to make it a great environment for everyone.

Shelley Melin Posted over a year ago

I work with Tina on a regular basis. She takes her job very seriously but is never too busy to help staff, student, or friend in need. As a coworker, she is there when I need her input. As a fellow mom, she has been there for me when I just needed someone to talk to. It is nice to have someone who unselfishly gives of herself to young and old alike.
