Christine Fry was nominated by her friend, Catherine Iszard.
Ms. Fry is from Raleigh, North Carolina and studied at the University of North Carolina Greensboro. She has been teaching since 2016 and focuses on analyzing political and journalist rhetoric through her work with the Speech & Debate team and Mock Trial team. Currently, she is teaching at Arvada West High School, where she is the advisor for its yearbook, The Claw. Ms. Fry has also expanded her scope in journalism by co-hosting a lifestyle podcast geared towards balancing being an educator in the classroom and the outdoors.
"Christine has been an integral part of shaping the future of young adults, first in Greensboro, and now in Arvada," said Iszard. "Through English, debate, yearbook, journalism, and more, she teaches high schoolers how to use language and rhetoric to express themselves, a crucial skill everyone needs. Christine goes above and beyond being a teacher in a classroom to each of her students. Christine has helped her students receive help with their mental health, problems at home, and more. As someone who isn't a teacher, it humbles me how much Christine cares about her students, and how much of an impact she has on the future of our world."
