Kylie Wallender was nominated by the North Dakota School Counselor Association.

Ms. Wallender was named the North Dakota School Counselor of the Year. She is well-known as a standout leader among the many school counselors at Fargo Public Schools. She serves as the course-captain for the middle school counselors and is skilled at organizing and facilitating teamwork among the various counseling teams. Ms. Wallender consistently takes on leadership opportunities, including leading many meetings with school counselors, organizing important professional development opportunities, and, most recently, teaching a college course. She is efficient, confident, kind, and knowledgeable, and she always works with the goal of what’s best for students and families. She is consistently the “go-to” person when questions arise—known for her ability to lead among even the most seasoned counselors.
