I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Mrs. Boyd about 4 years now . She first became my career coach at work and soon after my close friend . Her passion for education, family, community and leadership is astounding. She left such an impact in our companies strategic development department that has been unmatched. We should all drive for her ability to love, nurture and motivate her students and others.
I have known Shaundra for three years and can honestly say that teaching is a passion and not just a profession. Shaundra is a very talented individual and would be most deserving of this honor.
I'm excited to share comments for Shaundra Boyd, and to support her nomination for the LifeChanger of Year. I have known Shaundra, professionally for the last 5 years, and I can attest to her passion for learning and the development of others. As a Learning Leader, Shaundra was responsible for influencing and impacting the careers of front-line, customer service, supervisory, and managerial employees at the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority. I have witnessed Shaundra's attention and commitment to coaching and counseling employees, return as employees promoted to new opportunities. Shaundra truly cares about the growth and development of those around her. Shaundra continues to serve through her non-profit, The PEP Project, by uncovering and and providing access to resources for parents of children with special needs.

Mrs. Boyd is the absolute best ECE teacher and professional I have had the pleasure to work over the last 2 years. She has a positive attitude, a calm presence, and an optimistic attitude. She has been a rock of stability as our daily routine and school life has changed rapidly, due to Covid-19. She has led major projects for our teachers including learning online technology and aggregating data to most benefit our student population. She is a key resource for our students and staff, serving as FCCLA advisor. She is always actively working to creatively solve issues for her students. She also takes tremendous care of her students, taking the time to know what someone’s favorite candy is, picking the right theme for their birthday cards, and remembering who has food allergies or preferences when planning group events. She plans student meetings and celebrations for the accomplishments reinforcing their learning and growth. She joined WT with complete dedication and is available whenever needed. Her countless hours beyond the normal workday to ensure that we are able to get back to work and make our students school days meaningful and productive has been greatly appreciated and allowed us to bring some normalcy to our days. What can I say but WOW! Mrs. Boyd is truly a Life Changer for her students and co workers. She is a truly an asset to our school and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work with her.

Life Changer is so applicable when describing Mrs. Boyd. She certainly has a way of impacting and motivating others in a life changing manner! I met her during my first full year of teaching. She was my instructional coach and she truly changed the level of confidence I had in myself as an educator. She took the time to observe, support, encourage, and affirm me as a new teacher and that helped me to recognize my full potential. She was the first leader to take the time to coach and mentor me, and that changed the trajectory of my impact on the field of education. Mrs. Boyd is truly a positive life-changer. She is passionate and diligent in everything she does. She is always available and willing to assist others in every situation in which she is involved. Mrs. Boyd analyzes and differentiates every lesson to accommodate the individual needs of each and every student in her classroom as well as when students are participating in competitions and extracurricular activities. Mrs. Boyd makes positive life changes for colleagues when she trains and assists teachers and staff members with innovative lesson plans as well as technology instruction. Mrs. Boyd's work does not end in the classroom as she has made positive life changes for students and families in their home lives when she uses her own money to purchase food and other goods when families are in need. Mrs. Boyd has worked with me (the lead counselor) on numerous occasions, late into the evening hours, supporting students and families in crises situations. Mrs. Boyd's efforts did not end when the crisis was over, as she has continued to follow up with students and families many weeks and months after the crisis.

There is no other person that I believe deserves the Life Changer Award than Shaundra Boyd. Ms. Boyd is dedicated to her students in a way that I believe all teachers should be. She is their advocate, supporter, and number one cheerleader. However, Mrs. Boyd took her under her wings and made her feel comfortable and secure. Mrs. Boyd encouraged her, guided her, and help shape her into the confident woman she is. She speaks up more for herself, take more of a leadership, and absolutely enjoys school. So thank you Mrs. Boyd for all you have done for Briana and other children. You can really tell, Teaching is not just a job for you. It’s part of your everyday life. Continue to be who you are and so our children can be successful when they leave Warren Tech.

I've known Shaundra since we were in the 9th grade at Tri-Cities High School and she has ALWAYS been consistent and dependable. Her tenacity to push through, throughout her entire life is quite a miracle to behold. Despite all of the many challenging moments she's had to experience, her ability to rise above the storm has always enamored me to her. There is not a room I have ever been in with my Line Sister where she is not changing someone's life with her contagious laugh. Shaundra was born with a warrior spirit and that is the embodiment of a Life Changer.

I am honored to provide a few words on the amazing Shaundra Boyd and why she is perfect for such an award. As a high school classmate, Mrs. Boyd was always stellar academically and socially. Mrs. Boyd was our Miss 12th grade and she represented our class with high regard, poise, and elegance at the tender age of 17. There was never a doubt that Shaundra would do amazing things and she has not yet disappointed. She has always been a leader, impactful, humble, and outspoken. As a teacher of special needs, it is refreshing when colleagues and friends go the extra mile to provide our beautiful students with recipes for success, no matter the demands of such a task, as they are ALL capable. Shaundra authored her first book about her beautiful child and it was indeed, a dynamic read. I believe Ms. Willingham has captured the pure essence of Shaundra, and I must concur. She is truly deserving of such recognition and I am blessed to call her friend.
Shanudra and I are classmates at Georgia State University's Tier 1 Leadership Certification Program. Though we only met this fall for our online classes, Shanudra exudes professionalism, kindness, and thoughtfulness. She is an exceptional and thorough student.
