Music that Describes Marlin

Marlin Hoggard was nominated by his colleague, Angela Sue.

Principal Hoggard is an inspiration and a LifeChanger because of his ability to be down to earth. He started out in the education profession as a paraprofessional, became a teacher, and is now the principal of P17X. He knows all of his students by name, greets all of his staff by name, and goes above and beyond his role as principal to get to know his staff, students, and families on a personal level. Because of Principal Hoggard's positivity and outlook, families trust him and are actively involved in their child's education. They know he will listen to any parent, despite how busy he is.

Principal Hoggard cares about everyone's concerns, whether they're a student or a janitor. He goes out of his way to thank each school and community member for being a part of the P17X community, despite how new or how long each person has been with the school. Principal Hoggard has incredible insight and has put together an amazing team of administrators who lead with integrity and empathy. His administrative team members are all gracious, with high expectations and high support for new teachers and paraprofessionals.

"Due to the amazing community I have experienced at P17X as a first year teacher, I could not have asked for a better year and a better school to start my teaching career," said Sue. "Principal Hoggard inspires me to be the best I can be for my students on a personal and high academic level. He reminds me that no matter what esteemed position of community I am at, it is of the utmost importance to relate to others, have empathy, and support everyone, from students to staff. Principal Hoggard makes every day of my work seem like a dream job, no matter how tough the day is. He takes the time to listen to my concerns and enact change."
