I have known this spitfire since we were teens. She has always had a fighting spirit, a gentle disposition, and a heart of gold. It made since that she would spend her career teaching and inspiring others. She is an amazing person.
This small box will never have enough space, to explain how amazing their lovely lady is!
She fought for my son as a teacher, matching my fight for him from home. And even though he didn't get to stay in school, as we both tried to make happen... she made a tremendous impact on us! She supported him through all his meltdowns, held his hand when he was afraid of the toilets, comforted him when he became overwhelmed, and made him laugh when he couldn't find it in himself to do so!
My son is one of the most amazing humans I know, but sadly most only see his disabilities. But, Mrs. Schweickart seen him! She made him feel like the amazing little man he is!
And she will never know how grateful we are for her! She is the reason he still wants to experience school!! I can think of a more deserving person to be recognized for this!
My daughter is a Senior this year and had Mrs. Schweickart as her Kindergarten teacher. She made such an impact on her that she will be pursuing a Kindergarten teaching career as well!
Kirsten is a very strong lady fighting illness she couldn’t hardly handle to be there everyday possible for her students. She went through losing her mother through dementia for the last several years while with struggling her own illness! She’s very zealous and hard working through it all!
Kristen is a very kind, caring, teacher, mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend...I feel so fortunate to know this lady and wish her much happiness wiith her new adventures! One in a million??
