Latasha Perreault was nominated by an anonymous parent of a student.
"Mrs. Perreault is an outstanding mentor for her students, and she is deserving of this award," said the nominator. "She encourages my son and helps him with anything he asks. He recently had her help him with a resume for an internship. She is also his UIL Coach and computer programming coach. She is great at keeping parents informed of what their children are doing in class. We receive weekly emails with updates from her, sometimes more frequently."
"This school year, she lost a student to suicide. She and her other students found out during school hours," said the nominator. "She handled all of the emotions she had and was still able to comfort her students and walk with them through the pain. With everything she has been through this year, she's still...a positive influence on my son, as well as the other students."
