Music that Describes Shana
Shana Boudreaux was nominated by her principal, Holly Eiswirth.
Ms. Boudreaux is a real LifeChanger at Belle Chasse Elementary School. She filled the role as a contract nurse for the unprecedented 2020-2021 school year. She walked into this brand new role after working in a clinical setting in the past, and she embraced the role of "School Nurse During a Global Pandemic" with kindness and grace.
Ms. Boudreaux faced each day with a smile and patience, despite her long and challenging days. She brought a sense of calm to students and staff as they faced the unknowns of the COVID-19 virus. Nurse Shana gave hugs as often as she gave medicine and took temperatures. Her caring spirit and loving heart radiated throughout the school. There was not a task too big for her to achieve. Her work performance was exceptional; always portraying the highest level of professionalism.
With the end of the school year approaching, so was the end of Nurse Shana's contract. This brought much sadness to everyone who had grown to know, love, and appreciate her as part of the BCES staff and family. With several requests made to the nurse coordinator and superintendent, Nurse Shana was hired as the full-time nurse for the 2021-2022 school year. Her mission to serve the students and staff of Belle Chasse Elementary took flight once again as a healthcare hero. As COVID-19 cases were on the rise, she took the lead in making sure the students stayed safe and well. She supported parents by distributing information and helping them through whatever challenges they were facing due to COVID.
"Shana is a valued and appreciated LifeChanger! We are so blessed to have her in our school each day," said Eiswirth.
