Music that Describes Saralynn
Saralynn Vetter was nominated by her superintendent, Mike Bowers.
Seven years ago, Lone Star School District was very fortunate to hire a teacher with such significant experience as Mrs. Vetter. She is a pillar in the Agricultural Education teaching world, as well as the Northeast Colorado community. She has proven to be an amazing teacher who always puts kids first, and she is a wonderful asset to her district.
It didn't take long for Saralynn to distinguish herself as a leader in her building. Whether the discussion is about curriculum, safety, graduation pathways, or just day to day business, Mrs. Vetter's solutions towards creating a positive school culture are always at the forefront.
"The passion and directive of her thoughts are always student-driven and I can truly appreciate her motives," said Bowers. "She is a believer in a rigorous, well-rounded education and is passionate about preparing students to be College, Career, or workforce ready. Her extensive background with CTE is pivotal in helping her students find their passion."
A pivotal part of being an effective agricultural education teacher is a balance between classroom instruction and an effective FFA program. Mrs. Vetter’s student-centered philosophy and inquiry-based instruction have earned her great respect amongst her peers and students. The percentage of students in her FFA program has grown to almost 100% in her time at Lone Star. Her accolades speak for themselves, as her students win multiple state FFA championships yearly, earning her the highest respect from her peers.
"One of my favorite qualities of Mrs. Vetter is her humble demeanor. She is content with all accolades and attention going to her students. Saralynn spends numerous hours going above and beyond to ensure success for her programs. It is not uncommon to have to force Saralynn to step into the limelight to receive the accolades she deserves," said Bowers.
