Music that Describes Iveta

Iveta Rabb was nominated by her colleague, David Ragsdale.

"I strongly endorse Iveta Rabb for selection as a LifeChanger of the Year winner," explains Ragsdale.  "I have had the pleasure of working with her for the past few years as the Clarke Central Nurse, and I have witnessed her work ethic, professionalism, and dedication to our staff, students, and community on a daily basis.  She is an energetic, dynamic leader who genuinely cares about people. Furthermore, she knows how to talk and listen to them."

Nurse Rabb’s rapport with the students is something to behold. She's a counselor, teacher, nutritionist, tutor, security, administrator, and a “whole lot” of a medical professional!  She meets students where they're at and genuinely takes an interest in their lives, families, sports, and academics. Nurse Rabb builds solid relationship with students, and she gains the trust, admiration, and respect of their parents/guardians. She educates the students, their parents, and their teachers so that all involved understand the seriousness of a particular medical condition. She develops a supportable plan from the school's perspective and supervises that plan with intensity.

Nurse Rabb did an outstanding job during the COVID-19 pandemic. She shared factual information on the virus with administrators, teachers, and staff. This daily "data dump," along with her reassuring, calm demeanor, allowed the Clarke Central community to face a deadly global crisis and understand the challenges, as well as science-based solutions, associated with returning to school. She did not wait on questions. Instead, she anticipated requirements well in advance and communicated easy-to-read medical articles, CDC/DPH guidance, and other related materials so that teachers, administrators, and staff were able to make informed decisions regarding their personal situations. Nurse Rabb prepared well-written and carefully developed guidance for the CCHS re-opening plan. She counseled, educated, and coached administrators on the best practices for welcoming students back into their schools.  She will not shy away from issues that need to be surfaced, but she'll be tactful about how and to whom they are communicated.

Nurse Rabb’s ability to coordinate with the school district and local medical school doctors/nurses before teachers were eligible for the COVID vaccine ensured that the Clarke Central's vaccine days were effective and efficient.  She tirelessly worked her school's vaccination schedule, researched the specific vaccine manufacturer so that she was able to answer questions, alerted the staff to paperwork requirements, and supervised a huge undertaking!  She made her school's vaccination day look easy!

Nurse Rabb has worked tirelessly to offer "Stop the Bleed" training for teachers/staff. She also supervises the “first responder” team at Clarke Central High School.  She detected an immediate need for AED on one side of the campus and set her sights on procuring an AED.  Nurse Rabb sought to understand and balance priorities, including fiscal limitations, and she secured the biggest reward for the resources expended. Her budget management and fiscal integrity were on full display as she was able to secure an AED.

Nurse Rabb builds a great team by focusing on improved organizational communications and effective counseling and feedback programs.  She has created a bias-free workplace by stressing caring, concerned, competent leadership.  The CCHS staff respects her and genuinely enjoy working with her.  There is no doubt she brings the leadership and interpersonal skills needed to help in this community, the drive and focused attention to detail needed to be a role model in the Athens community, and the experience needed to expertly lead and manage change in her community.

"She is, without a doubt, a LifeChanger," said Ragsdale.

Such a well-deserved reward. What would we do without her? What would I do with her personally? I love you Mrs. Rabb. You are much appreciated.
