Kenna Borst was nominated by her colleague, Shayla McNiven.

"Kenna Borst is a vital asset to the Riverton Middle School team," explains McNiven. "We couldn't have run the school without her, especially this year and last year."

Ms. Borst hasn't only had to be the school nurse, but the public health nurse, as well, since the school does all the quarantine letters and close-contact tracing. She has kept up to date with the latest COVID information and makes sure everyone is informed, as well. She assesses students, staff, and even family members of students and staff, all without complaint. Everyone has so many questions about COVID and other medical conditions, and despite being so busy, she always handles it with grace and compassion. She spends time with families who are understandably concerned over such a diagnosis. 

"Occasionally, there are times when we've had to step in and help with the nurse's position. Even though I never know what I'm doing, Kenna is always very patient in teaching us (sometimes several times). Kenna really cares about all the staff and students in our building, and we are so lucky to have her," said McNiven.
