"I would like to recognize Karen Bear, the nurse at Tavares Elementary School," explains Landry. "She is a fantastic nurse who shows compassion and care to each and every person who walks in her clinic, including students, parents, and staff. On average, Karen attends to 40 students daily. Each student gets her undivided attention. Karen not only manages her clinic, but she also manages all COVID cases on her campus (with the guidance of her administration, of course). I have worked with Karen for several years and can honestly say she is a top-notch nurse. She's one of the best nurses Lake County Schools could have. It has been a pleasure and an honor to work with her."
