Eboni Haywood was nominated by Courtney Ouimet, a parent of a student.
"She makes her students comfortable," Ouimet said. "They laugh at her jokes. My son appreciates her crazy side. She treats him as a human, not just a number on a test."
I’m so excited for the recognition that this nomination is receiving!
I had the ultimate honor of working with Eboni as a trusted and valued colleague for 12 years. Her dedication and passion is truly inspiring. She cared deeply about all of her students. She attends their games, concerts, recitals, plays, and even graduation parties years later. She becomes more than a teacher to the children in her class. She is family to them, and they to her. Eboni is one of those rare educators who can make true connections with the students. She takes the time and puts forth the effort day in and day out to make the students' learning experiences in her classroom once in a lifetime. If you want to find Eboni at school, just arrive super early in the morning. Most likely, she is the first car in the parking lot, opening the building and preparing for her children hours before her contract hours begin. If you're looking for her after school, again, just go to her classroom. She is often still at school until 6 pm or even later. If your child needs extra help, you will find her giving up her lunch or working with a child after hours or even via Zoom. This nomination is so well deserved by this outstanding teacher!
Ms. Haywood is so deserving of this! My son Noah has always had a hard time in school but Ms. Haywood has been so patient and caring towards him. She has made him love school again and I thought that would never happen! “Life changer” is a spot on title to describe ms. Haywood ??
My son is also in Ms. Haywood's class and agrees. He's happy to have her as his teacher this school year! Thank you Ms. Haywood! ??
Congratulations on being a life changer! You are very special to my grandson, Owen. When I ask him how school is going, he always has positive things to say about you. So from his grandma, I say thank you for caring!!
