LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Wendy Miller was nominated by her friend, Beth Parker.

Mrs. Miller is in her first year as principal of Atlanta High School after serving as assistant principal for several years. She is married with children of her own, but she's highly involved in student life at her school. You can usually find her moving about the school, interacting with students, teachers, paras, and custodial staff alike. Activities at school are shared in the local newspaper, heralding accomplishments of all age groups.

For example, her school recently planned and orchestrated an amazing Veteran's Day Program. Students honored attendees with speeches and songs for each branch of the military. The veterans received thanks for their service through art with expressed personal "Thanks", as well as a meal.  All of this took place after school hours in a rural community. 

Mrs. Miller realizes that student involvement promotes happy students, and happy students exhibit high student achievement.
