LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Ashley Dale was nominated by her colleague, Kimberly Rollins.

Mrs. Dale has worked diligently to provide her district with resources to support social-emotional learning. She implemented a suicide prevention program in her district. Together, with the technology department, she was able to have the program's protocol imbedded into the counseling referral system.  Mrs. Dale sought out information on Handle with Care and has worked in a partnership with local first responders to implement the program and provide training to each school.

"The start of the 2021-2022 school year was especially difficult for our elementary schools.  We had three schools open with no school counselor hired for the upcoming school year. Mrs. Dale worked with the principals in each of those buildings to ensure the students had access to much needed guidance and SEL lessons and resources.  Mrs. Dale has proven to be an essential part of the CMCSS family.  Her contributions have increased SEL awareness, provided support and resources for suicide prevention and victims of possible child abuse, and increased time available to counselors to provide direct services to their students and families. Most importantly, Mrs. Dale has dedicated her life and career to ensuring that all students are afforded opportunities to grow emotionally, socially, and academically and develop into prosperous adults," said Rollins.
