LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Sarah Donnelly was nominated by her student.

Mrs. Donnelly was her nominator's sixth-grade language arts teacher at Sherwood Elementary School. She is a friend, teacher and role model to students and staff alike. She comforts students when they are upset and encourages them to express their feelings. Mrs. Donnelly also helped her nominator develop a love of language arts.

"Mrs. Donnelly would always help me when I needed it," her nominator said. "When we were reading Old Yeller, I could not read it because I love animals way too much. Mrs. Donnelly was super understanding and told me I did not have to read it. She wasn't mad or upset."

Her calm demeanor and gentle approach makes students feel comfortable in her classroom environment.

"Mrs. Donnelly is one of those teachers who you will never ever forget," her nominator said. "She made me a better student, and I thank her so much for that."
