Mr. Stephens goes above and beyond daily. He offers flexibility with his schedule, and he works at times that serve the community and school efficiently, especially during this tumultuous year. His willingness to meet scholars where they are may seem to go unnoticed, but parents, staff members, and students alike see him. Although his role is to keep the school clean and safe, he takes the time to mentor students and meet their needs.

"I can honestly say if he sees a need, he fills the need, whether it's sneakers, clothing, or haircuts. Mr. Gene makes sure that the scholars are straight. Gene is always quick to answer the call when a situation arises. His work and dedication are genuinely appreciated," said Jones.
