Ms. Robinson has a proven ability to make a beneficial difference in the lives of students. She supports students through classroom lessons on various topics and issues relevant to the youth of today. Through small groups and individual counseling, Ms. Robinson empowers students to access resources to help them excel academically. She also spends time helping kids with their college and career readiness plans so they can be better equipped to strive for their career goals for their future. She uses data to inform her work with the counselors to help her assess the effectiveness of the services to the students, staff, and families. Ms. Robinson is very good with data use and display data.
She is in tune with the social and emotional needs of students to see what is needed to support them. When there is a need not being addressed, Ms. Robinson pursues new resources to address those areas. For example, she led a staff team to bring the B.I.O.N.I.C. Team program to her school to help prevent kids from falling through the cracks when they face issues such as being new, illness, bullying, or the loss of a loved one. They are still looking at how to implement the program in the best way for TAF @ Saghalie, but COVID-19 has hindered their efforts.
Ms. Robinson has the ability to create a positive school atmosphere. She is an optimist who continuously looks for the bright side of things. She has a strong ability to build positive relationships with students and families. Her work as a PBIS team member sheds light on important issues that help the program maintain its focus and effectiveness.
Ms. Robinson is a strong leader within her school and the district. At TAF @ Saghalie, she is on the Admin team as a part of the school decision-making team, and she's a key voice with the strategic plan. In the district, Ms. Robinson is on the School Counselor lead team, providing supports for Professional Development for school counselors. She is also a mentor to two counselors, who are new to counseling and FWPS, respectively. She challenges herself to always be learning and improving, so she pursued and completed the Mentor Academy training 101 and 201. Her adherence to high moral and ethical standards makes her a great role model for her mentees and students.
