Music that Describes Alyssa

Alyssa Richardson was nominated by Danielle Gordon, a family member.

Ms. Richardson has dedicated the past 30 years of her life to making sure her students are given the best opportunity to succeed. She has devoted countless hours of love and devotion to her students over the years. Her impact has been so great that she actually stayed in touch with quite a few students and got to witness how successful they became.

"If you are lucky enough to meet Ms. Richardson, you know that she is the most selfless, joyful, happy-go-lucky, thoughtful, caring, and intentional person you will ever come across," explains Gordon. "She is committed to ensuring her students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and mentally during their time in her classroom. I could not think of anyone better to nominate for this incredible award than Ms. Richardson. She spent a majority of her career at Title I schools in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is very fitting that this award is called the LifeChanger award, because over her 30 years of teaching, she has touched and impacted approximately 750 lives for the better. That is an incredible legacy to leave behind."

We have been blessed to have Ms. Richardson on our team the past few years. Not many would have returned for another year after the experience with distance learning. She completed her career on her own terms which is commendable. Thank you for your years of service dedicated to the students in our community. You may never know how many lives you touched, just know that you did and your efforts mattered.

I have known Alyssa most of her career and have always been amazed by her dedication to her “children”. She has sacrificed personal resources and time to her classes to ensure they received a great education experience. Her commitment to changing lives has been her motivation and she still maintains relationships w prior students who return to visit. Her guiding principles have been, “Believe” and “Be Kind”. Believe you can do it and Believe you can be the change. And always Be Kind because you never know what someone else is going through. Its hard to find a dedicated professional like Alyssa, she has changed many lives and showed compassion and love for all her kids.

I had Miss Richardson as my second grade teacher almost 20 years ago. I can still remember the classroom, the way she arranged her furniture, and where she read us stories each and every day. Her classroom was one of the most welcoming and supportive environments I’ve been in. Not only that, but she made learning so fun. When she read us stories, it was like we were there. When you struggled with an instructional concept, she was by your side helping you work through it. And when you struggled with friendships, family relationships, or working through emotions, there she was by your side again. She is one of the most beautiful people inside and out that I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. She deserves this award whole heartedly.
