Kendra Zaragoza was nominated by an anonymous student's parent.
"Ms. Z. was my son's resource teacher in high school," said the nominator. "Ms. Z. was one of the only teachers my son had that he really liked, identified with, and looked up to. She gave my son confidence in his voice, showed him how to navigate and regulate his behaviors, and helped to develop and prepare him for the outside world. Her classroom was a 'safe' place for my son and many other students - they were allowed to emote and exhibit behaviors (within reason, of course). We will always remember Ms. Z; she is an amazingly patient, driven, and understanding person and teacher. We're rooting for her on her new adventure in elementary teaching!"
