Music that Describes Lauren

Lauren Williams was nominated by Knox Brodgon, a family member.

"Mrs. Williams has always gone above and beyond for her students and school community," explains Brogdon. "She fills the gaps in so many ways, from volunteering to take on additional responsibilities so students have as many opportunities and experiences as possible, to taking the time to check in with students who she thinks are struggling emotionally or academically."

Mrs. Williams is not only a classroom teacher, but she also conducts free ACT workshops for all students who need help but whose families may not be able to pay for ACT services. She sponsors the student council, assists with local service projects for the community for hospitals, shelters, and nursing homes, meets with parents and students to assist seniors with the college admissions and financial aid process, and organizes a college and career fair for the high school.

Mrs. Williams is a positive light in everyone's life. She is respected by parents and administrators and loved by all of the students in her school. She has high expectations for herself and her students, and they do their best to make her proud. Mrs. Williams has been teaching for fourteen years. She has held various positions within the school district aside from teaching, such as Instructional Literacy Coach and Director of Student Services. She is constantly striving to improve herself and is the best example of "never stop learning." She uses her time away from school to attend workshops and educational sessions that she thinks will benefit her students.

She is a fierce advocate for students in and out of the classroom, and she often attends various school academic and sporting events to let her students know that she supports them in all of their dreams and goals. Mrs. Williams was also the Mississippi Association of Student Council's Sponsor of the Year in 2021 due to her accomplishments within her school and supporting student councils throughout Mississippi.

"No one deserves the LifeChanger of the Year Award more than Mrs. Williams. She has changed more lives than she will ever know, and we are all blessed to know her," said Brogdon.
