LifeChanger of the Year Nominee Profile

Amy Stoddard was nominated by Kevin Johnson, her principal.

"Yes, she is the leader of our Social and Emotional Learning in the school, and yes, her job title says counselor," explains Johnson. "But, at our school, Amy is so much more than those things." She has a natural ability to listen and connect with students and colleagues; almost able to mold herself into whatever each person might need in their time together.  Ms. Stoddard is a large piece our the social fabric of our school as well; a member of both our Learning Leaders Team and our school Climate and Culture Team (JRGC Team). Healthy and positive relationship building is the core of who she is, and her lead with love mindset is inspiring for our entire school community. 

 In conversation with ort middle school students and our school's faculty, Ms. Stoddard is often cited as our safest adult in the school. She is a kid magnet, but also has the ability to work with staff and students through challenging experiences.  "We are a higher quality institution, because she is a member of our staff," said Johnson.
