Jamie Truncellito was nominated by Diana Whalen, her principal.
"It is an honor and privilege to work alongside this truly caring and empathetic professional," said Whalen. "Ms. Truncellito displays an incredible work ethic and is always on! When you watch her walk down the hallway, she always guides students to appropriate behavior and gives positive statements to set the tone for their day."
Every word Ms. Truncellito says from arrival to dismissal is supportive and purposeful. Whether she is working with a lunch bunch group, an individual student, or a class lesson, Ms. Truncellito makes every child feel valued and heard. She does a video segment for her school's daily morning news show on the character education trait of the month and recognizes outstanding students. She is a tremendous advocate and fills many voids in the lives of her students.
She not only teaches her students, but she is a teacher for parents and staff, sharing her expertise to improve their social and emotional well-being. She works hard to ensure her students grow as individuals and are proud of their accomplishments. Ms. Truncellito is an innovative and committed counselor who instills independence and self-worth in her students. She embraces each challenge professionally and ambitiously. She supports her students academically, emotionally, and behaviorally. Her drive and passion inspire those around her to be the best they can be.
"Her students will remember how she challenged them, how she made them feel, and the encouragement that she gave them. They'll remember the values she taught them, and how she helped them understand the world and approach it with a positive attitude and belief in their abilities," explains Whalen. "She helps to provide them with the foundations and building blocks to become their future selves. We are so thankful for Ms. Truncellito at Parsons School."
Ms. Truncellito has been an invaluable resource for my daughter, Olivia Allen, throughout her time at Parsons. I am so thankful that Olivia has developed a relationship with her. It feels so good knowing that Olivia has someone always looking out for, and advocating for her. Ms. Truncellito is a bright light at Parsons. This is a well deserved honor!
Ms. Truncellito is an amazing person!!!!!! Her patience and dedication to helping children is like nothing I’ve ever seen. She has been so loving and caring in helping my son. If she has given so much time and patience to him, it is just amazing that she gives that same energy to all of her students. I am so grateful to her and she has done an amazing job with my son and the progress is so visible!!!!!
We are so thankful for Jamie at our school! She goes out of her way to do everything she can for not only students, but staff as well. She gives her whole heart to our students. We are lucky to have her!
Ms. Truncellito is one of the most selfless people I know. Ms. T is always there for the students and is willing to drop everything she is doing to help them. She comes to the rescue EVERY SINGLE TIME. Ms. T always follows up with the students and offers extra time and support for them. Not only is she there for the students, but she is also there for the teachers. Ms. T is also an open ear for teachers. When looking for support for our students or just to vent, she is there for us all. As a support, she offers monthly lessons that help both students and teachers. These lessons can match the monthly character traits or a challenge that benefits all the students. These lessons are meaningful and we, as teachers, are able to refer back to them because the students remember them. Ms. T is a superior school counselor and I appreciate her and everything she does. This is a woman who deserves the Lifechanger of the Year Award.
As a former educator, I am thrilled to see that Ms. Truncellito is making such a difference in the lives of students, staff & parents. Reading the words of her principal, gives me hope that this generation is continuing where mine left off. Kudos Ms. Truncellito!

Mrs. T has helped me through a really tough time in my family, without her and her help my son Emmanuel would not be able to reignite his passion to learn and have an amazing school year without the help of Mrs.T. I was not emotionally ready to deal with manny and this situation, she checked up on me and you could see the sympathy she shows others. I’ve never been good at expressing myself through english, but I hope she knows that she has impacted my life as well as my sons in an amazing way. And for that I’m forever grateful.

I am very thankful for the support Ms. Truncellito provides my child at Parsons Elementary School. Ms. T is caring and always willing to help. The school Lunch Bunch sessions have helped my child’s behavior tremendously. We are thankful for her services.
Ms. Truncellito is the best! She works tirelessly and around the clock to support the students, staff and families at Parsons school. She goes above and beyond to advocate for the needs of the students and the community. Ms. T. is loved by all and very responsive to everyone. We are so lucky to have her as our counselor. Jamie is an amazing human. She dedicates her school day to the students in our school and her colleagues. She has helped me with situations between my students by listening to them and helping them work through their emotions. Jamie has been a listening ear for me so many times I have lost count. She is an amazing supporter and friend. Our school would not be the same without her.

Jaime is a fabulous Guidance Counselor! She is also there for the teachers and the rest of the staff at Parsons. She was extremely helpful to me last year when I was new to the district. Miss T is simply the best! She is always there to help students with anything they need help with. She is also there for the staff. She makes you feel welcomed and cared for just by her tone and her personality. Any tensions or anxieties seem to dissipate when Miss T comes into the room. She makes everyone feel like nothing is too big and there is nothing that can't be figured out. Just her presence soothes even the most on edge student/teacher (even me!). We love Miss T!
