Marcia Hahn was nominated by Crystal Butcher, the parent of a student.
"It is my pleasure to nominate Marcia for LifeChanger of the Year," said Butcher. "As a parent of second-grade twins, I have witnessed the exceptional contributions that Marcia has made to our school community. She is an excellent and hard-working counselor who has dedicated herself to enriching the lives of students and faculty around her. Marcia is exceptional for her compassion and commitment to helping others."
Ms. Hahn has committed herself specifically to bringing mental health awareness to the school and wants to break the stigma around these discussions. She has led conversations about the devastating effects of bullying, striving for perfection, and incorporating hands-on play. She has a powerful voice in her school community, speaking up for what she believes in and proving to be a passionate and inspiring leader.
"Marcia has my enthusiastic recommendation," said Butcher. "She is a kind, compassionate, intelligent, and strong person with a clear sense of direction and purpose. I am confident she will bring the same warmth, support, insight, and hard work with her colleagues for her students and social community."
