Before her current role, Mrs. Douglas led her district for several years. She spent her first years as superintendent bringing her district out of financial and academic despair to the incredible place they are today. Under her leadership, Alexander Local School District was listed as a top 100 school district in the United States while going above and beyond to provide for the whole child. During the height of the COVID pandemic, her steadfast dedication to the students was apparent in every decision she faced.
Mrs. Douglas' role has changed this year as she is now the director of special programs. She utilizes her talents in many areas, focusing on enriching the whole child, providing services for homeless students, and securing funding through grants. She worked at the state level to develop the "Whole Child Wellness Initiative." Mrs. Douglas was also instrumental in bringing a Holzer Health Clinic to the school campus, and she spoke in front of state legislators on the Fair School Funding Plan.
