She builds relationships with students and their entire families to support them better. Ms. Tomasetti possesses an innate ability to connect with students and foster their academic and personal growth. Their approach in the classroom goes beyond traditional teaching; it is evident that she takes a deep interest in each student's well-being, aspirations, and challenges. For example, Ms. Tomasetti has pioneered the Big Buddy Program, which has led to remarkable outcomes for students, especially those facing academic or social difficulties. This commitment to making a difference has made Ms. Tomasetti a trusted mentor, and students consistently report feeling supported, motivated and understood under her guidance. 

"Nicole actively contributes to a positive school atmosphere through inclusive practices and creative school-wide initiatives. Through our Blended Middle School Leadership Program, she has created a space for students, parents, and staff to feel a shared sense of belonging and purpose. Nicole's enthusiasm and kindness have enriched our school environment, promoting respect and encouraging each member of our school community to appreciate and uplift one another. She believes that students are most successful when they become comfortable and confident in their learning environment, and she provides that for them," said Schwartz.

Beyond the classroom, Ms. Tomasetti has demonstrated exceptional leadership through her role as Arete's Education Through Music representative. She is known for her forward-thinking approach and ability to inspire others, leading by example and fostering collaboration among colleagues.

"Nicole has played a pivotal role in implementing a music program across the district in positively impacting self-confidence, achievement, and motivation through a core curriculum that has not only elevated our school but has also set a standard across the district," said Schwartz.

Ms. Tomasetti has over 20 years of experience working with preschool through eighth-grade students. She is incredibly dedicated and passionate about helping the kids she works with become good students and excellent community members. Ms. Tomasetti consistently exhibits an exceptional level of professionalism and instructional expertise.

Due to her dedication to innovative and effective teaching methods, her students achieve outstanding results, often surpassing expectations. Because of her work, she was awarded Pleasant Ridge School District's Outstanding Teacher Award and Arete's Teacher Who Makes a Difference Award. Her peers hold her in the highest regard for her teaching skills and commitment to ongoing professional development.
